DAVID BASCOME
David Bascome began his soccer career at the age of 7 in his native country of Bermuda. By the age of 16, David was playing First Division soccer for the North Village Club, Bermuda. At age 18, he made his first appearance for the Bermuda National Team. By age 20, David signed his first professional contract with the Harrisburg Heat of the National Professional Soccer League.
After 13 seasons of professional indoor soccer, Bascome won his first championship during this 2003-2004 campaign with the Baltimore Blast and has won two more since that time with the Blast. David is entering his 18th season and ranks 12th all-time int the MISL with over 1,000 points. David has earned honors as a five time League All-Star and is one of the leagues most prolific two-way players and leader in scorin and games played. Off the playing field, David has also found much sucess and notoriety.
In 2002, he was recognized by the Queen of England for his service to his community in his homeland of Bermuda. He is the recipient of the Member of Order of the British Empire. He is also the Harrisburg Magazines' Peoples Choice Award winner in the area of Sports Celebrity. David also finds time to write a weekly column for the Bermuda Sun.
He is now the Commission of the ISL (Island Soccer League) in Bermuda and is the founder of the Hope for Life Program, whic is the fight against drugs and violence.
