Susan Summons

Susan Summons, the Motivational Doctor, is often described as "an electric motivator and trainer." Her voice motivates you to get up and take action. Susan is a Master Teacher who coaches, inspires and motivates all levels of success. Summons was selected as a Pulitzer Prize Nominator for the recent national publication and release of the "Encyclopedia of Sports Parenting"
book by Dan Doyle.
Susan became the first African American woman at the community college level to serve as an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic Sports Festival Team (Bronze Medal), a floor coach at the US World Championship Trials, and an Assistant Coach for the USA National European Select Team Tour (TelAviv, Israel and Strasbourg, France). Summons, a participant in the first inaugural World Scholar Athlete Games in 1993, has served as an Ambassador of the games and is now a World Peace Broker for the 2011 World Youth Peace Summit.
Susan served three years in the United States Army Reserve as a personal management consultant and is a pioneer in the first Women's Professional Basketball League. Susan also ranks among the top 14 winningest coaches in America and was honored and recognized as one of the United States Military (Army) Veterans by the NJCAA.
Susan is an associate professor in Biology Health & Wellness Department for Social Sciences and Head Women's Basketball Coach at Miami Dade College In Kendall, Florida. The Florida Community College Athletic Association Executive Board announced that Susan Summons will be honored and inducted into the FCCAA Hall of Fame on November 19, 2010 for her distinguished service and contributions in education, sports and national leadership. In 2008, she became the first community college sports educator and coach to be named one of the top "100 Most Influential Sports Educators In America."
